WHY JOIN JCI ST.CATHARINES?

Junior Chamber International (JCI) offers future leaders a chance to develop the skills necessary to succeed in your professional and personal life. In the Jaycees you will have the opportunity to learn how to lead, accept responsibility, make decisions, become an effective speaker, develop management techniques, be a better employer/employee and a better person. You may have a role in identifying the needs of your community and then planning and executing projects to help meet those needs. This can be achieved by interfacing with the community, government and business in pursuit of the completion of your projects. You will have a chance to meet and associate with progressive and ambitious young people of the same age bracket with similar interests and objectives. The friendships made are not solely confined to the local community, but extend nationally and internationally as well.

AFTER I JOIN…THEN WHAT?
That depends entirely on you. This is the secret of success within the Junior Chamber. We have many different activities and interest areas. After you join, you can select the areas you want to be involved in, let us know your preferences – and you are on your way. We have local, regional, national and international opportunities.

WHAT IF I AM INTERESTED IN TRYING SOMETHING NEW IN THE JUNIOR CHAMBER?

Then propose a project. Our philosophy is to support and encourage the ideas of our members. We will assist in the development of a budget and a plan of action. Members are constantly looking for new challenges and ideas.

DOESN’T THAT TAKE A LOT OF TIME?
That depends on the areas of interest, and how involved you want to be. Everyone is different. We expect that once a commitment is made, it is fulfilled.

IS WORKING ON PROJECTS ALL YOU DO?
No. Junior Chambers have a variety of options such as sporting events, conferences and regional, national or international events as well. Meetings and training sessions are held on a regular basis. Fellowship is spontaneous.

HOW WILL MY EMPLOYER/EMPLOYEES BENEFIT FROM THIS ORGANIZATION?

You will become a stronger asset to your company by developing your management leadership and interpersonal skills.
