latest news: 2011 Playing Santa for mom & dad
From SNAP St. Catharines (http://www.snapstcatharines.com)
On a busy December 3, the St. Catharines Jaycees hosted their Annual “Playing Santa for Mom & Dad” event, providing a little fun for every age! The day began with a breakfast for seniors while 40 “Littles” in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization, along with their “Bigs” shopped for a gift for that child’s parent/guardian. Each child was given a Canadian Tire gift card to shop with. Then the children are invited back to the Dunlop Community Centre where the seniors help wrap the gifts they have purchased. Santa Claus also paid a visit! All unopened food from the day was donated to Gillian’s Place and those that attended the breakfast were encouraged to bring in a non-perishable food item that was donated to a local food bank.
